Mystery of Neanderthals Drives Final Warning

New novel posits unique theory of disappearance

Los Angeles, California Oct 11, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - The mystery of what really happened to the Neanderthals drives the plot in a new novel entitled, Final Warning: Return of the Neanderthals, from Burning Books Press.

The zany new novel by Los Angeles writer David Drum is scheduled for release on October 31, according to the publisher.

Final Warning: Return of the Neanderthals is a zany science fiction epic that explores the demise of the Neanderthals, an extinct species of human beings who perished approximately 40,000 years ago.

“The demise of the Neanderthals is an idea I thought hard about including in the novel,” said Final Warning’s author, David Drum. “Anthropologists have never really determined why the Neanderthals died off, and yet they are the ancestors of billions of people on Earth. My book does provide an unusual if speculative answer, and it gives the plot a dramatic twist.”

A deadly cellular technology, a corporate cover-up, a flying saucer, a wicca, and an unusual love triangle are other plot elements, according to Drum.

“My book is a sort of campy space opera with a serious purpose, similar to the movie ‘Don’t Look Up!’ Or perhaps a Marx Brothers movie crossed with an old episode of 'Star Trek',” Drum says. “It’s a wacky little comedy, for sure, but it does have a very serious purpose.”

Final Warning: Return of the Neanderthals will be issued as a 284-page paperback priced at $14.95, available from Amazon and other vendors. A companion Kindle e-book is in the works. Both the paperback and e-book will be released on Halloween, according to the publisher.
