Two Shades of Vice: Based on the true story of an interracial couple’s life together in crime, is the tell-all true story by author Dewey B. Reynolds. Dewey was inspired to write Two Shades of Vice after doing in-depth research into his parent’s criminal lifestyle. Based upon police reports, criminal rap sheets, and eyewitness accounts from those who knew his Irish American father and African American mother best, he became inspired to write the story which tells how this interracial couple played a high-stakes game of living dangerously on the edge. They would eventually suffer from the vestiges of social isolation after expressing their undying love for one another.
“Having ended up in foster care at the infant age of six months, I became very eager to find information which told the real truth about how and why I became a ward of the state of Missouri,” Dewey would often tell family members and friends. “And with the unveiling of the truth, I learned that it was my mother’s and father’s ongoing criminal lifestyle which put me there.”
