Nuevo Leon, Mexico May 28, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Tecnológico de Monterrey inaugurated the Eduardo Garza T. Innovation and Entrepreneurship HUB, a new platform designed to accelerate science- and technology-based startups, foster collaboration among key ecosystem stakeholders, and strengthen Monterrey’s position as a leading city for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The HUB aims to establish itself as one of the largest scientific and technological entrepreneurship platforms in Latin America. It is part of the Monterrey Innovation District and was created as a space where entrepreneurs, companies, investors, experts, funds, incubators, and strategic partners converge around a shared purpose: transforming knowledge into high-impact solutions.
Unlike other entrepreneurial spaces, the HUB operates under a “hub of hubs” model by integrating specialized capabilities as an extension of its operations. This approach expands access to capital, knowledge, and networks while reducing the time required for validation, development, and scaling of new solutions.
During its first five years of operation, the HUB expects to host more than 150 startups annually and generate approximately 1,000 direct jobs. It is positioned to become a driving force for the knowledge economy in northern Mexico and Latin America.
“Entrepreneurial culture is part of our DNA. Today, we want to take it to the next level. As a country, we need to accelerate the transition toward higher value-added ventures, which is why we are promoting the Monterrey Innovation District — a place where research is conducted in collaboration with industry and laboratories to generate products that can reach the market. This space is open to faculty, students, and alumni of Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as to members of other universities and the broader community. We expect to host more than 700 startups over the next five years and contribute to the creation of more than one thousand direct jobs, becoming a key engine of the knowledge economy for Mexico and Latin America,” said David Garza, Executive President of Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group.
“To generate sustainable and shared prosperity, we need more innovation and more entrepreneurship. We need knowledge to connect with talent and real opportunities in order to build solutions that reach people, organizations, and the city. That is what this HUB represents: a space where ideas find a community that transforms them into impact,” said Juan Pablo Murra Lascurain, Rector of Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Infrastructure to Accelerate Solutions
The HUB features 8,300 square meters of operational space designed to support different stages of the entrepreneurial process, backed by an investment of 662 million pesos. Its facilities include:
• 18 startup garages for entrepreneurial teams.
• More than 600 square meters of coworking space with capacity for up to 60 startups.
• A Master Stage with seating for more than 200 people.
• Two specialized laboratories: the Prototyping Lab and the BioWorkshop BSL-2.
• Two hangars spanning more than 600 square meters.
• More than 400 square meters in The Commons dedicated to strategic partners.
With this infrastructure, the HUB addresses one of the main challenges of the entrepreneurial ecosystem: collaboration. By bringing together talent, infrastructure, partners, and opportunities, it supports science- and technology-based startups — in areas such as biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence — from initial validation through growth and scaling.
Partners to Scale Innovation
The Eugenio Garza Lagüera Institute for Entrepreneurship and other partners, including investment funds, incubators, accelerators, and specialized service providers, will play a central role in the HUB’s operational model. Their participation will expand access to capital, strengthen validation and scaling processes, and enable the co-creation of solutions within the ecosystem.
The opening of the Eduardo Garza T. Innovation and Entrepreneurship HUB marks another step in consolidating Monterrey as a city of scientific, technological, and entrepreneurial innovation. The HUB accelerates projects with the potential to transform realities and contribute to economic, social, and technological development from Monterrey to Mexico and the world.
