Medal winners will be awarded prize money; gold medalists earn $100,000, silver medalists $50,000, and bronze medalists $25,000. The overall prize fund is $2.4 million. Several nations decided to boycott the championship as in protest to the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus in the wake of the ongoing Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
