Sandy, Utah Jun 9, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - On September 20, 2020, after 7 days, 13hours, 16 minutes 15 seconds, ultrarunner Mike McKnight completed the 500-mile Colorado Trail, claiming the fastest known time (FKT). Documenting his journey was fellow ultra-runner and filmmaker, Matt Van Horn in the full-length film, “From Broken to Breaking.”
The film that can be found on YouTube, chronicles not only McKnight’s journey on the 500-mile-long trail but brings in the characters that have made the journey possible. Van Horn, who did all of the filming, storytelling, and editing, was able to capture a story of McKnight that cannot be found in any other medium.
Through the eyes of Van Horn the viewers of “From Broken to Breaking” will get to know McKnight as a person. They will see glimpses of his life through pacers, friends, and family. Through the eyes of Van Horn’s lens and creative storytelling, people will experience the raw emotions that subjecting oneself to seemingly endless miles on a mountain trail will bring out.
Through the eyes of Matt Van Horn, (who himself ran 70 miles of the journey with camera in tow) you will not only experience the journey on to the FKT, but you will understand why a person would subject himself to such an arduous task, and the support system behind him.
Through his eyes, you will see Mike McKnight's “From Broken to Breaking.”
