I, Melissa Martz, US Congressional Candidate for CD 18, feel a great responsibility toward the American people, and my own integrity, to put out a formal statement regarding President Trump’s perplexing and disheartening endorsement of Congressman Brian Mast. The community at large has reached out with grievous feelings at the implications of corruption and dishonesty regarding our beloved President, Donald Trump, that this endorsement instigates.
Specifically, the Constituents of District 18 are well aware of the truth that the Congressman has NOT represented the people well. He has actively attacked our Second Amendment rights, even going so far as to partner with Nancy Pelosi. Further, our President has been such a strong advocate for sex-trafficked children, while the Congressman has made publicly documented jokes about raping children outside of our border. Given, our President’s strong sense of pride and strength, I along with others, am perplexed why he would endorse a man quoted as calling his leadership “weak”.
As a patriot and an America First candidate, I am hoping that our President has been misinformed and mislead, regarding this endorsement. I pray he will rescind and rectify this expeditiously. With so many non-rino, non-establishment conservatives, like myself running, the President has better and more loyal options.
I want to be clear, however, that if our beloved President has not been misinformed, but has in fact endorsed the Congressman with full knowledge of his betrayal of the American people and our Constitution, then I, Melissa Martz, will not be seeking an endorsement from President Donald Trump. My loyalty is to God, to truth, our Constitution, and to my fellow patriots. Regardless of what happens, our grassroot efforts to restore our Republic are unapologetically full steam ahead.
