A yearly conference, 2 Days of 2e brings together parents, educators, and clinicians to learn how to best reach and teach twice exceptional (2e) learners (gifted with a learning difference).

The 2019 2 Days of 2e Virtual Conference brings together 12 renowned experts and thought leaders to discuss topics ranging from emotion regulation, social thinking, and trauma, to learning styles, classroom regulation, and teaching strategies. Conference participants will learn how to use research-based tools for their home, classroom, or clinical office. Contact hours are available through the University of Connecticut.

This year the conference will feature two keynote speakers: Julie Skolnick, M.A., J.D., founder of With Understanding Comes Calm, LLC, passionately guides parents of gifted and distractible children, mentors 2e adults, and advises educators and professionals on bringing out the best and raising self-esteem in their students and clients. Julie will give the opening keynote, “Understanding and Addressing Emotion Regulation in 2e Children.” LeDerick Horne, spoken-word poet, advocate for all people with disabilities, and motivational speaker, will close the conference with “Beyond Classification,” a keynote that offers strategies for increasing the academic performance, self-determination, and self-advocacy skills of students with and without disabilities.
In addition to our keynote speakers, 2 Days of 2e attendees will have the opportunity to access 10 sessions featuring the following world-class thought leaders, educators, and clinicians: Joanna Haase, Ph.D., MFT; Dr. Richard M. Cash, Ed.D.; Paul Beljan, Psy.D., ABPdN, ABN; Joy Lawson Davis, Ed.D; Don Ambrose, PhD; Deborah Reber, M.A.; Josh Shaine; Femke Hovinga, M.A.; Maria Johnson, M.A. CCC-SLP; and Greg Burnham, M.S.
Registration for 2 Days of 2e is open now. The conference is live on October 29th & 30th, 2019, and since it’s virtual, sessions remain available on-demand through April 2020. During live launch dates, many conference speakers will be available by LIVE chat during their session to answer attendee questions and respond to comments. For those interested in building community with fellow parents, educators and clinicians, attendees will have access to three chat rooms through to April 2020.
