kolkata, West bengal Jun 24, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - In the heart of West Bengal, where the shadows of human trafficking loom large, Mahima India stands as a light of hope, healing, and human dignity. Founded in April 2010, Mahima India has been on the frontlines of the battle against sex trafficking, offering specialized aftercare and rehabilitation to minor survivors who have experienced unimaginable trauma.

Today, Mahima operates a network of trauma-informed residential care homes and community outreach programs that serve some of the most marginalized and abused children in India. Through its holistic approach—encompassing psychological recovery, education, vocational training, holistic nurturing and family reintegration—Mahima India has transformed the lives of hundreds of survivors.

A Comprehensive Model of Care

Mahima India's core mission centers on rescue, restoration, and reintegration. Its residential care homes, also known as Mahima Homes, provide a safe haven where survivors receive:

  • Trauma counseling and mental health care delivered by trained therapists
  • Formal education support including school admission, tutoring , exam preparation and higher studies
  • Vocational training and skill development, from tailoring, computing, spoken english to beautician course.
  • Health care access, including medical check-ups, vaccination/immunization and treatment

In Mahima’s care, girls who were once silenced by abuse learn to speak, study, dream, and eventually lead.
