Lubbock, Texas Jan 26, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Lubbock-based singer-songwriter Amelia Presley has been fully cleared of all assault charges stemming from an incident in late 2024, after a Lubbock County judge dismissed the case in January 2026. The charges were dropped prior to trial, affirming that the matter would not proceed further in the court system.
According to public records from the Lubbock County Mugshots Facebook page, Amelia Presley was arrested on December 1, 2025, on two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Local Warrant). The arrest occurred at Gary Avenue and 34th Street and was carried out by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). Presley, age 36, is listed as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with gray eyes and red/auburn hair.
The charges stemmed from a confrontation that followed months of online harassment, threats, and intimidation directed at Presley. According to reports, Presley approached Dolores Flores and Swanna Carrillo, who were sitting in a vehicle outside Presley’s home, to ask Carrillo to stop harassing her and to ask that Flores’ sister, Angela Alvarez, also stop harassing her.
Presley had previously received multiple threatening text messages from Swanna Carrillo, including messages stating:
•“…a word to you little girl who rides on your family’s name for fame…. Just remember it’s not slander Amelia if ITS TRUE and there’s proof!!! But get ready….it’s just starting for you twatwaffle”
•“Hahaha nope. TRY AGAIN!!! Your number is posted on the internet stupid cunt but get ready lil girl….. You’re about to learn the power of TRUTH YOU HAVE NO IDEA”
•“When people who you don’t know hold your deepest darkest secrets in their hands… you best tread lightly Amelia”
•“Lololol you have NO idea what’s coming for you Amelia but you’re gonna learn”
In addition to the texts, Angela Alvarez allegedly posted repeated harassing comments on Presley’s Instagram, including:
•“You don’t even sing good!!!!! Staaaaap trying”
•“Seriously can’t even sing!!!!!”
•“Unblock me if you really wanna get down. Scary self”
•“YOU WISH YOU HAD FANS LMAO. YOUR PATHETIC”
•“PLEASE COME SHOW ME HOW YOU ROLL… I’M READY FOR YOU”
According to reports, when Presley approached the vehicle and asked the harassment to stop, Dolores Flores allegedly exited the vehicle and grabbed Presley by the neck. Presley reportedly defended herself by punching Flores in the face. Swanna Carrillo then allegedly exited the passenger side, ran toward Presley, spit on her, and attempted to poke her eyes, while Flores allegedly tried to restrain Presley’s arms. Presley reportedly broke free and punched Carrillo before the two were able to overpower her.
Police reports note that both Flores and Carrillo weigh over 300 pounds, compared to Presley’s reported weight of approximately 120 pounds at the time of the incident.
Presley initially began a harassment report but later stopped pursuing it. Flores and Carrillo, however, pursued assault charges against Presley, leading to her arrest and book-and-release in December. All charges against Amelia Presley were dismissed in January by Lubbock County Judge Mark Hocker, and the case was never brought to trial.
Presley publicly stated in response to the arrest:
“I was within my rights defending myself. There’s a video. The truth will come out. God’s got this.”
She later added that one of the individuals involved was continuing to harass her online using a fake Facebook profile named “Richard Perdition.” Presley stated:
“If you want extra entertainment, the person who attacked me then pressed charges is commenting all over this post under a fake profile named ‘Richard Perdition’. It’s still harassment even if it’s a fake profile, bud.”
It appears that the “Richard Perdition” profile was allegedly Swanna Carrillo, who commented repeatedly on the post, including linking to a past American Songwriter interview and stating:
“What happened to ‘Harm nobody else’? She’s a fake!!! And an abuser!!!”
The case drew widespread attention and commentary on social media. Many commenters expressed support for Presley and highlighted her music career. Randall Blake O’Neil commented, “Ay she makes nice music ☺ yall should look her up,” adding that Presley was part of a duo called The Highway Sisters and had performed in Lubbock. Dustin Rose stated, “Any publicity is good publicity! Never heard of you til now. Listened to your music and like it!” with Elijah James Farley responding that the situation “probably tripled her followers.”
Other comments included expressions of support and belief that Presley was provoked. Jim Rich McNutt, a fellow songwriter, wrote, “Someone started it and she ended it. Praying for you, stay strong. God has got your back!”
Presley also revealed that the incident occurred over a year before the arrest and that she had professional obligations immediately afterward. Responding to a comment about her appearance, Presley wrote:
“It happened over a year ago. I had to go be filmed for TV for Lubbock Music Now right after. Had to put makeup over bruises. It sucked.”
With all charges now dismissed and no trial ever held, Amelia Presley has been legally cleared in the matter.
