Oxford, United Kingdom Dec 14, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Two school friends and Oxford University graduates have bucked business trends to create one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK. Oxford Summer Courses has been ranked at No 20 in the 22nd annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100, often referred to as the Business Oscars.
Harry Hortyn and his school friend Robert Phipps have flown in the face of analysts’ predictions and launched a business focusing on traditional teaching methods which have grown to a £8 million business that is the fastest growing education company in the UK.
The company provides an authentic Oxbridge educational experience to pupils aged 10 to 24 from around the world with their summer courses steeped in the unique teaching traditions of Oxford University.
Harry Hortyn, co-founder and director at Oxford Summer Courses said: "We’ve learned a lot since our first course of just 31 students in 2010 and have successfully scaled to deliver courses to over 2,500 students and have expanded to the US and India. We recruit the best teachers and tutors in the UK and that together with the support of our strong team is the secret to our success so far."
As well as the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 listing they are also the 80th fastest growing company in the UK in the FT1000 index, the highest-ranking education business on the list.
“We’ve succeeded by going against analysts’ growth forecasts that the future growth in the education sector is all to do with technology. We’ve bucked that trend and shown that face to face learning is still just as important and the fact that we have grown 100% each year for the last four years and now this, it’s a great recognition for the whole team,” added Robert Phipps, the company’s co-founder, and director.
