Ramat Hasharon, Tel Aviv Apr 18, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - Nir Nakav is one of Israel’s premier metal and session drummers who’s work has been featured on over 100 albums including: Salem, Höst, Winterhorde, Arrallu, Stranngeways, Sturmgeist, Structural, Nail Within and man others. Nir is the head of the drum department in Rimon, Israel’s prestigious music college. He authored the method book “Battle Hymns” and has recently produced the debut albums for the bands Off Grid and Sentimental Mercenaries.
Nir started to release music under his own name in 2020, after going through the greatest crisis of his life- a forced divorce. The result was two albums; The Nir-Death Experiment and the Nir-Death Experience and one EP titled Child’s Play. The EP was made with both his sons and featured 3 songs by each. Four years later, Teen Titans: Born of War is out. It is the second EP made by Nir and Sons. Haim (20) wrote 3 songs for the EP; Divine Revelations, Pacify and Clinching Victory. Tom (15) contributed Sewer Swimmer, Redionians and 3 AM. While the first EP was made while the world was under the covid lockdown, the second EP was made while the nation was in a state of war.
‘Pacify’ showcases Haim’s writing ability. It shows the progress he made as a guitar player, song writer and lyricist. His lyrics deal with subjects that are universal for young adults:
I feel like I am waiting for someone to complete me
But what if she’s waiting for someone who’s already complete
A music video was made for the song where Nir, Haim and Tom are playing in a recording studio. It gained over 60,000 views in less than 2 weeks.
Teen Titans: Born of War was mixed and mastered by metal legend, Dan Swanö who also contributed a guitar solo for Divine Revelations and keyboards for Sewer Swimmer.
