Singapore, Singapore Dec 3, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - The 3rd edition of the LexTalk World Global Hybrid Conference was held on the 23rd and 24th of November’ 2022 at Ramada by Wyndham, at Zhonshan Park, Singapore. Holding the much-awaited and anticipated seminar in Singapore marked the debut of CAC Media LLP organising the conference in a different important global location in the Asia Pacific region from their previous editions in the Middle East region, namely Dubai. Dubai was the destination of the conference of the first 2 editions before Singapore.
Holding the coveted conference in Singapore had its obvious reasons. Legal technology is fast becoming one of the most important initiatives driven by the Government of Singapore. It was announced at the start of May 2019 that a programme would be launched for law practices to get funding support of up to 70% for the first-year costs of adopting baseline and advanced technology solutions in their practices. This program, aimed at incentivising law practices to adopt technology in their businesses could be worth up to SGD3.68million and was launched by the Singapore Ministry of Law, the Law Society of Singapore, Enterprise Singapore, and the Info COMM Media Development Authority.
The global conference was organised in association with important global industry bodies like the APCAM (Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation), AIADR (Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution), Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation), SILF (Society of Indian Law Firms), The Law Society of Singapore and Global Lawyers Association.
The whole objective of the conference is to bring global lawyers under one roof and explore the dimensions of the Legal Industry and propagate vital domain knowledge, by sharing and gathering amidst an environment facilitating the free flow of information. The best way to do this is to engage the peer group of lawyers to enlighten the entire fraternity, to prepare and brace for the fast-changing legal world. The Global Legal Industry is poised to shed the usual conservative approach and embrace the much-needed conjunction with cutting-edge technology. And what better place would it be, than Singapore which is fast becoming the global epicenter for the merger of the 2 most dichotomous platforms, the Legal Industry and Technology?
The other most important objective of the conference was to create an opportunity in a venue that would act as a platform for business networking amongst global lawyers. Like any business, global legal professionals also need to network and connect with each other to facilitate business growth and to learn from each other.

On the first day, i.e., on the 23rd of November 22, the day’s session was started by Adrian Tan, with the Keynote Speech, How to Hire the Lawyer of the Future.
The second Keynote Speech was done by Trina Ha, on the topic – The Singapore IP Strategy 2030 – Supporting Innovation and Enterprises.
The third session was a panel discussion – The Metamorphosis of GRC: Cognitive AI and ML solutions. The members of the panel were Raghvendra Verma, April Ralmundo, Tania Pavaskar, and Kiat Seng Lee.
The fourth session was the virtual award ceremony, honouring the Virtual Lex Falcon Awardees by announcing their names and by bringing them online via a video interface.
The next or the fourth session for the day was a case study presentation by Aarushi Gupta on the topic – Residency by Investment Options in the U.S. and Canada.
The fifth session of the day was a panel discussion on the topic – How the Legal function can support a sustainable ESC program. The speakers on the panel were Hannah Lim, Naveen Bhardwaj, Kalindee Mehta, and Swarnendu Chatterjee.
The sixth session of the day was a quick speech by Industry Leader Iain Macdonald on the topic -Going from just a lawyer to a partner.
The day broke off for a power lunch and networking session.
The seventh session of the day was a case study presentation by Sharon Yap, from Lexis Nexis.
The eighth session was a round table discussion on the topic – Technology Law for Businesses. The session was chaired by Stanley Tan, Priya Mahajan, Ezra Tay, Tushita Kochak, Alban Kang, and Prerna Gandhi.
After a short break with Hi-Tea & Refreshments along with Networking, everybody regrouped together for the last session of the first day and that was the Awards for the Awardees who had attended the summit physically.
The second day, i.e., 24th November 22 started off with registration, Hi-Tea & a One to One introduction of the attendees on the floor.
The first knowledge session of the day began with a keynote speech by Phillip Chua on – A financial institution’s digital transformational journey – navigating the legal complexities.
The second session was a keynote speech again by Mekhla Basu on – Legal Counsel to a Leader – The journey and how to get there.
The third session of the day was a panel discussion on the topic – The legal department of the future: Digitalization/Digital Transformation and Disruption. The discussion was presided over by Snigdha Nahar, Frederick Tay, Lekhna Menon, and Gaythri Raman.
The fourth session of the day was the virtual award ceremony for the Awardees attending the summit virtually.
The fifth session of the day was a panel discussion on the topic – Modern World of Litigation: Knowing, Preparing, and Presenting. The participants for the discussion were Balakrishna Gopalakrishnan, Tushar Agarwal, Chanchal Choudhary, and Adam Maniam.
The sixth session was a case study presentation by Dawn Voon, Phillip Chua, and Zheng Guang Lam on the topic – Building your organization’s cyber resilience – What inhouse counsels can do.
The seventh session of the day was a panel discussion – Global perspectives for business in resolving cross–border commercial disputes. The participants of the discussion were Bhupender Singh, Dixon Soh, Anju Jain Kumar, Piyush Gupta, and Somesh Tiwari.
After lunch and the networking episode, the eighth session of the day was a quick speech by the industry leader on Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on the Legal Profession: The Dawn of Digital Disruption. Dr. Josephine B. Rajendra was the speaker of this solo expert speech.
The ninth session of the day was also a speech by Vandana Seth on Digital Healthcare in India - Regulatory Framework.
The tenth session of the day was a quick speech by young industry lawyer, Kaveesh Nair on the topic, International Arbitrations in India – from Agreement to Enforcement.
The last and final knowledge episode for the day and the conference was a round table discussion on Examining key principles of Data Protection and Compliance Requirements across both the GDPR, CCPA, and other key international data privacy acts. The entire interesting conversation was participated by Swati Gupta Maheshwari, Anthony Wong, Adrian OOI, Kenneth Ong, and Sébastien Christophe Lacroix.
After tea and the networking session, there was an exclusive Award presentation session for the Lex Falcon Awardees, which was followed by a group photograph and one-to-one connectivity.
