Tehran, Iran (Issuewire.com) - The recent twelve-day conflict has left lasting effects on Iran’s economic landscape, particularly on its industrial and manufacturing units. Saeed Omid Emam Jomeh, a legal expert and advocate, emphasized that the legal and financial challenges facing production sectors must be addressed with urgency.
According to Titrsanat News, Emam Jomeh stressed the crucial role of trade chambers, cooperatives, and business unions in managing the crisis. He noted ongoing legal evaluations during the conflict aimed at formulating responses for potential future disruptions, especially in relation to governmental decisions from ministries like Industry, Economy, and Labor.
He highlighted the importance of preparing legal and protective frameworks for manufacturers in emergency scenarios and urged a return to regulatory order to stabilize industrial relations.
Addressing the fiscal aftermath, Emam Jomeh pointed to severe disruptions in the banking system (including Sepah and Pasargad), causing liquidity crises and impeding financial obligations. He proposed a six-month grace period on tax settlements for private businesses, especially those originally due by June or July 2025.
He also recommended delaying employer social security payments for June and July, while emphasizing uninterrupted insurance coverage for workers. Support for workers, he added, should be compensated through tax relief for manufacturers.
On the judicial front, Emam Jomeh called on the Judiciary to suspend legal proceedings related to returned checks issued by industrial entities, suggesting this moratorium extend through August 2025 to allow businesses to regain stability.
He referenced policy proposals from the Ministry of Industry to assist post-crisis recovery but urged decision-makers to engage directly with business associations and chambers to ensure policies align with real-world needs.
Given that over 65% of jobs are tied to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), he warned that ignoring their challenges would pose a serious risk to national employment.
