Aurora, Ohio Jul 9, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Alternative rock band K.I.N.D. has officially announced the release of their highly anticipated album, Killer Instinct Never Dies. While the record marks a chapter of the band’s signature sonic landscape, it also carries a profound emotional weight: the album is dedicated in loving memory to K.I.N.D. co-founder, guitarist, and driving creative force Sean Carlin, who passed away in 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Killer Instinct Never Dies stands as a testament to Carlin’s uncompromising dedication to great music. Known for his fierce creativity, relentless work ethic, and ability to push sonic boundaries, Carlin’s spirit is woven into the very fabric of every track on the record.
The history of K.I.N.D. is deeply intertwined with the DNA of the Northeast Ohio alternative and industrial rock scene. Following the success of the 1990s Capitol Records breakout band Dink—famous for hits like "Green Mind" and "Angels"—former members Sean Carlin, bassist Jeff Finn, and drummer Jan Eddy Van Der Kuil joined forces with longtime friend and guitarist Steve Gang to carve out a new path. Seeking a departure from purely electronic arrangements, they formed K.I.N.D. (Killer Instinct Never Dies) to channel a raw, powerful "guitar-army wall of noise" paired with deeply melodic songwriting.
The new album honors that original blueprint while serving as a final, beautiful monument to the art Carlin loved so dearly. It is both a celebration of what the band built together and a direct reflection of a lifelong commitment to authentic, unfiltered rock music.
"Sean poured his heart into everything he touched, and music was his ultimate language," the band shared in a statement. "This album isn't just a collection of songs; it’s a living tribute to a brother, a visionary, and an enduring creative spirit who believed that great music never truly stops playing."
Killer Instinct Never Dies is currently available on all major streaming platforms.
