Dubai, United Arab Emirates Mar 22, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - The 7th Edition of Retrofit Tech MENA Summit and Awards took place today with the participation of more than 200 industry leaders and experts. The Summit is officially co-hosted by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and hosted by Etihad ESCO.
The first day of the Summit was a great success as speakers delivered world-class presentations and case studies on key topics including energy efficiency, sustainability and retrofitting.
Faisal Rashid, Senior Director - Demand Side Management of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy provided the opening keynote presentation addressing Dubai’s energy efficiency and DSM Strategy.
Faisal Al Raisi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Etihad ESCO provided updates on new and upcoming projects and initiatives of Etihad ESCO’s retrofit programme during the first half of the day.
Said Mouline, Director General, AMEE - Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency showcased an international case study on energy efficiency where attendees gained insight on the successes and lessons learnt. He said “Energy efficiency is the very key point and all countries should be concern about it”.
Graeme Sims, Executive Director of RSB Dubai shared a presentation on regulatory outlook on HVACR and district cooling.
The Summit featured an executive panel discussion on regulatory and super ESCO outlook on incentivizing retrofits and enhancing energy and water efficiency in buildings which was moderated by Hassan Younes, Co - CEO & Founder, GRFN, along with expert panelists from AMEE - Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Etihad ESCO, RAK Municipality, and Abu Dhabi Department of Energy.
Andrea di Gregorio, Executive Director, Energy Efficiency and Renewables Office (Reem) of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality who joined the executive panel discussion said “Our team has been attending the Retrofit Tech MENA summit for the past few years now, and the event serves as a great platform for addressing the needs of the energy efficiency sector in the UAE.”
