Singapore, Singapore Oct 5, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Distinguished Carnatic vocalist Kavitha Jayaraman announces a collaboration with talented Avi Patel. The collaboration bridges tradition and contemporary music, offering a tranquil take on ‘Ganesha Pancharatnam’. The rendition is now available on digital streaming platforms and YouTube. This meditative 5-minute-and-41-second composition breathes fresh life into the iconic 8th-century devotional stotra by Adi Shankaracharya.
Rooted in the rich cultural legacy of Carnatic music, ‘Ganesha Pancharatnam’ has always held an esteemed place in Indian devotional tradition. It is known for invoking clarity and establishing inner peace. Its popularity was further established through the celebrated rendition by Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi. Now Kavitha Jayaraman and Avi Patel take it a step further and offer a humble contemporary interpretation of this traditional, timeless hymn. They have recreated it on Veena, one of India's national instruments. This release respects the spiritual character of the original composition. At the same time, the composition adds one modern touch through minimal aesthetic music production. "This project is an earnest exploration of sacred poetic depth, tailored to offer listeners a moment of grounding reflection in a fast-paced world," shares the creative team behind the release.
Kavitha Jayaraman and Avi Patel's rendition of ‘Ganesha Pancharatnam’ offers a serene musical presentation that preserves the traditional hymn’s original essence while bringing a fresh approach. It provides a graceful listening experience for both Carnatic music admirers and contemporary world-music listeners.
