Los Angeles, California Mar 6, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Kanude Channels Glam-Rock Swagger on New Single “I’m the King” (Out March 13)
Nashville recording artist Kanude leans into full glam-rock swagger on his new single “I’m the King,” arriving March 13, 2026. Drawing inspiration from the glitter-soaked stomp of T. Rex and the theatrical edge of David Bowie, the track delivers a strutting, riff-driven anthem packed with attitude.

Self-produced and recorded at Sweetbriar Studio in Nashville, “I’m the King” prowls with stomping drums, razor-edged guitars, and a sly vocal performance that plays with predator-and-prey imagery. The song’s cinematic lyrics paint a jungle-night scene filled with seduction, instinct, and dark humor—an animalistic metaphor wrapped in glam-rock swagger.
Recorded May 9–10, 2024, the single features a powerhouse group of Nashville players. Co-writer Billy Harvey helped shape the track’s biting lyrical tone, while guitarist and bassist Chris Rodriguez brings electrifying muscle to the recording. Rodriguez has recorded and performed with artists including Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd, Keith Urban, Kenny Loggins, and currently performs with Kenny G.
Kanude handled production, mixing, and visual design for the release. The single’s cover artwork draws from two historic works from the National Gallery of Art collection: “Le Lion” (1759) by Jean-Baptiste Oudry, and “Dancer and Gazelles” (modeled 1916, cast 1917) by Paul Manship—imagery that mirrors the song’s themes of power, beauty, and primal instinct.
To celebrate the release, Kanude will perform twice at the 5th Annual Austin Rhythm Revival during SXSW in Austinon March 13 and 14.
“I’m the King” arrives everywhere March 13.
