Jumanji Studio announces Craig Vezina as CEO of its latest venture

The Spaceship Social Impact Education Company named Finalist for the Top Tier Impact Award at World Economic Forum

London, United Kingdom May 30, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - The Spaceship Academy Ltd today announced today that Craig Vezina will assume the role as co-founder and CEO of the company. The London-based social impact education company is the most recent start-up incubated by the Singapore-based Jumanji Studio. With over 70 mentors and senior advisors, Jumanji is a leading builder and grower of ventures with a positive impact on society and the environment. According to Jumanji co-founder, Maximilian Masson, “The Jumanji community brings together the very best in each field. We are home to a talent community. We believe deeply in the problem The Spaceship solves in terms of widening the circle of impact entrepreneurs around the world, and we are incredibly excited to join forces with Craig towards this end.”

After nearly two decades at the forefront of international education, Vezina established the global education non-profit Z-School: The International School of Social Entrepreneurship (now the Z-17 Collective) in 2016. Over the last 6 years, Z-17’s focus has been on building bridges between schools, universities, and socially and environmentally responsible businesses around the sustainable development goals. Z-17 is guided by the belief that only systems of change and purpose can truly deliver meaningful progress towards reaching our 2030 global goals.

In discussing the opportunity of The Spaceship, Vezina says, “As an educator turned entrepreneur, I’ve been focused on what great social impact training programs should look like for a long time…  The Spaceship’s model of a diverse library of accessible, engaging content with multiple self-paced entry points….supported by a live-learning cohort and 1 on 1 project-based coaching…. really is the ideal.” Vezina also feels there is an “awesome synergy” between The Spaceship and his NGO work. “The Spaceship enables individuals & cohorts to develop and refine their entrepreneurial powers while Z-17 has focused on connecting ecosystems of players impacting diverse communities in diverse ways. We need both. The big idea here is moving away from a 1+1=2 model to more of the 1+1+1=10 way of thinking…which of course is what exponential impact actually looks like.”

On Sustainability Day at the World Economic Forum this week in Davos, The Spaceship was chosen as a finalist in the Education & Media category by Top Tier Impact, a global ecosystem of investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals focused on solving the critical issues of our time. Last year, the inaugural TTI Global Impact Awards received almost 1,000 applications from startups all around the world. Vezina is convinced, however, that sustainability hinges on our collective cultivation and support of entrepreneurial approaches towards a whole host of social and environmental challenges. “We are deeply honored to be recognized amongst an incredible field of startups doing impactful, important work, but we absolutely need to continue to widen this circle and seek to leverage mutual strengths in a spirit of ‘we…together.’ As I heard one inspiring impact entrepreneur express it this week, ‘collaboration is a new competition.’ ”
