After completing a residency in Denver, Colorado—where he explored Native American symbolism in regional museums and visited Taos Pueblo in New Mexico—Johnny expanded his global focus. His visual language now draws from pre-Columbian, African, Asian, and European spiritual systems, reinterpreting them through mixed media and sculpture.
