Jeffery Leving Stops Adoption Proceeding, Secures Immediate Return of Dad’s Unborn Child

Chicago, Illinois Jul 2, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - Fathers’ Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving will explain how he stopped an adoption proceeding and secured the immediate return of a Chicago dad’s unborn child after his former girlfriend abruptly left Chicago and, according to Court records, went into hiding in a distant state, Saturday, July 6 on Power 92.3 FM and www.power92chicago.com at 9 a.m. CDT.

When a Chicago man learned that he was going to be a father, he was overjoyed. However, his life was quickly turned upside down when, according to Court records, he learned from a friend that his former girlfriend – without any notice to dad – had moved to a distant state, was terminating her own parental rights to dad’s child, and was placing the child for adoption with total strangers. The former girlfriend reportedly lied to the adoption agency she was working with and said that dad wanted nothing to do with the child – not true!

Once dad learned of his unborn child, he did everything in his power to contact the mother and bring his unborn child back home. However, the mother reportedly refused to return his phone calls, leaving dad with no way to locate the mother and his unborn child.

Terrified of losing his child forever, this man sought help from Fathers’ Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving, and he got it. Leving quickly put together a legal team, led by attorney Maureen Gorman, with critical investigative assistance from Detective Wayne Halick.

First, Detective Halick, though he had very little information about the mother’s whereabouts, located her in a distant state. Then, the Leving Legal Team rushed into Court on an emergency basis. Leving argued that the mother should be ordered to bring dad’s unborn child back to Illinois. Leving won; the Judge entered an Order of Protection directing that the mother immediately return with the unborn child to Chicago. When Leving notified the adoption agency of the Emergency Order of Protection, the agency immediately stopped the adoption proceedings.

Following the birth of dad’s infant son in Chicago, Leving went back into Court and argued that dad should have custody of his son. Once again, the Judge agreed with Leving and granted dad custody.

Without the Leving Legal Team’s work, this little boy would have never known his father and would have been raised by total strangers. Now, dad and son enjoy a wonderful and close relationship. Against all odds, this courageous dad never stopped fighting for his son, and neither did Leving.
