Charlotte, North Carolina May 1, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Iyad Fakhri is a native of Syria and began his career in medicine at the University of Damascus School of Medicine. He completed the medical doctor program in 1996 and then became a primary care physician for the Syrian Ministry of Health for two years.
During that time, he provided careful treatment to patients and contributed to major research projects. The first concerned preventative care for elementary school children and the second helped develop better diagnostic criteria for patients presenting with chest pain symptoms to help rule out coronary artery disease more accurately. He also published a book on kidney diseases in 1996.
Iyad Fakhri has always believed in getting to know his patients and paying close attention to their symptoms, taking extra steps to fully explore their conditions, and providing personalized care to every patient. Once Iyad arrived in the United States he started taking courses to ensure he could continue providing the best treatment possible. He attended Computer Skills courses in Dallas, Texas at Richland college before moving to Philadelphia for his Clinical Skills Assessments and Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification.
He then entered East Carolina University in the Brody School of Medicine and began a three-year residency program. During his residency, he worked at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina and earned admitting privileges to Lenoir Hospital in Kinston and Sampson County Memorial Hospital in Clinton.
In 2003, he completed the American Board of Internal Medicine certification program and then opened a private practice in Clinton, North Carolina where he worked as a solo practitioner of internal medicine for ten years. He provided comprehensive patient care to ensure every patient received personalized treatment and extensive attention.
Iyad Fakhri strives to be the medical provider patients trust and turn to when they need help the most. He works to make big differences in the lives of his patients and others and is always looking for new ways to improve himself. He is currently working toward reopening his private internal medicine clinic in Clinton and spends his spare time reading, hiking, collecting stamps, and cheering for the New England Patriots.
