College Park, Maryland Jun 3, 2024 (Issuewire.com)  - Strange research shows that not only Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Robots are part of the latest innovation but plants can be a part of it too. While it might just look like a small innocent plant, Neo Px is bringing a huge difference in the field of bio-technology that paves a better way of dealing with air pollution. It is a bioengineered plant that is capable of purifying indoor air at a huge scale which makes it applicable to all kinds of spaces. With its ability to work on an unprecedented scale, it is the first-ever super-powered organism engineered by bioscientists. Lionel Mora the co-founder of Neoplants startup said, "It's the equivalent of up to 30 regular houseplants in terms of air purification." Mora further added, "It will not only capture but also remove and recycle, some of the most harmful pollutants you can find indoors."

The project started with the visionary of a renowned genome editing researcher, Patrick Torbey, who came up with the dream of creating living organisms "with functions." Mora also added, "There were plants around us, and we thought that the most powerful function we could add to them was to purify the air." This French startup is willing to spread its business all over the world and it started selling modified pothos plants in the USA in April. The plants can be potted, packed, and shipped by the company and the USA seems to be a promising market for it since air purifiers have a high demand here. Mora further added, "We do our best to send as many plants as possible every week, but it's not enough to meet demand for now."

Neo Px is one of the most powerful plants that help to absorb volatile organic compounds or VOCs. It is a microbiome, a bacterial strain that helps to do the job and the plant allows creating the ecosystem for it. Torbey explained, “We have a symbiotic system between plants and bacteria” that helps to create neo-plants.
