Streaming dominance has taken over in more areas than just music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon. The demand for releasing content to keep listeners engaged for a lengthy period is now also becoming a significant part of the music industry. Music mogul Chincia Kenner is demonstrating that she understands where the industry is going. Chincia Kenner, also known as the artist Intelligent Diva, is building an empire which supports the structure of the new industry today. Diva Underground Records will be releasing the contemporary music single by Intelligent Diva which is called “Slide” on September 27th, which will be released on all music platforms. However, she has released Episode 3 called “Songbird Moves On” from “The Songbird Series”, on Vimeo which is out now. She will release the episode on her Roku Television Channel on IDMTV in mid-October.
Chincia is focusing on the visibility and competition which is out there. The volume of music being released daily is high. This means that artists need to release more content more frequently to stay visible and relevant. As an independent music artist with an independent record label, she has recognized that artists do not have the same resources as major labels. Therefore, she has focused on building a platform which does not just focus on music releases. It focuses on the entire scope of entertainment and teaches music artists how to treat their music like a business. As an entrepreneur, she has launched entities under the label to release both music on streaming platforms, while at the same time having the music which has been released to be also have a visual presence on her IDMTV Channel which is on Vimeo and Roku. Chincia, who goes by the music artist Intelligent Diva is also an actor and voice actor where she has launched a mini television series called the “The Songbird” Series which is based on characters which are also all played by the music artist. Each musical episode includes a musical visual which is captured as part of the skit from the mini television series and music released by the artist Intelligent Diva.
In Episode 3, she let us know while the platform was expanded with Songbird’s story, there are new characters being introduced to the show which are Promise, and Grandma Diva. Intelligent Diva who happens to be a multi-genre artist decided that each music release will be aligned to a character within the television series. Songbird‘s character was based on a woman who was hurt and scorned, who utilized music therapy to help her move on. She engaged in writing in her journal about how the hurt made her feel, where those emotions were converted into song and music released under the genres of pop, and rock. It features the two hit singles” Darkest Pain,” and “Do Si Do.” The musical genius releases each episode as a podcast parody, which is another scope of entertainment which is on the rise. The podcast's musical intro and the podcast also includes musical interludes from Intelligent Diva’s album called “Music Is Art.” Using this approach, she noticed that targeting two different areas of entertainment, and marketing strategy brought more engagement to her music on the radio. It resulted in more airplay where songs were not just being played that were featured in the podcast. It resulted in stations going back to play songs released previously from 2019 to the present. Even though these were internet radio stations and digital stations. These platforms had social media platforms, which also came with a fan base. This sparked more engagement.
Intelligent Diva continues to focus on releasing content and music across genres. In episode three, she hints that Promise and Grandma Diva will be the next two characters to release music. Promise is the character who will be releasing music that falls under R&B, and Hip Hop which is where the new single being released called Slide will be released as part of Intelligent Diva’s character Promise will deliver.
There is a push for more content to be released by music artists. To avoid the music burnout and the pressure of keeping up with content creation while maintaining quality and consistency. Intelligent Diva has used music personally as therapy. However, music therapists worldwide have been serving more than 1.6 million people on a yearly basis. Intelligent Diva is not a music therapist, however, uses music therapy to deal with personal issues and the pressure she has been facing. She felt that people would be able to relate to the case study or the issue, more than identifying the tips which are messages within the television sessions. Intelligent Diva, who is also a voice actor stated that she did not want the television series to be boring, therefore she kept interactive and funny.
Intelligent Diva playing multiple roles within the television series while at the same time releasing contemporary music as it relates to each character appears to be a brilliant idea. Both the characters cross over into multi genres and the music crosses over into multiple genres. Intelligent Diva is hoping to reach a larger audience by also placing her content on Roku TV, with Roku having an active audience of over seventy million which is another streaming platform. Her focus is to build an audience across various fields of entertainment and not just focus on music. Her launch of the Roku Channel is to help independent artists get into entertainment where they learn to treat their music and talents more like a business while building assets. She wants to have a place where artists can explore multiple fields of entertainment and build brand awareness while learning the business.
