A patient will come in and many times 5 -10 years after an accident will still be suffering as the result of an accident. They now have DJD, degenerative joint disease, where the body tries to sacrifice mobility for stability. In other words, the spine or joints will try to fuse together in an attempt to stop motion. This is not good for the body because God designed it for motion and that is where precise manipulations can help. Movement of joints brings in nutrition to joints and increases ROM(range of motion). Once our motion stops, then we must become dependent on others and that is not a happy feeling with respect to our future.
