Las Vegas, Nevada Sep 26, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence indicate that 1 in 4 women have been victims of extreme violence, underscoring the critical need for women to learn self-defense. Nevada is one of the top five states for domestic violence.
Serena Anderson licensed Las Vegas real estate broker with Royal Realty, was shocked to learn about the attack on a real estate agent in a model home last month. She felt inspired to empower Las Vegas women with a way to defend themselves in light of recent events and statistics.
She sought out community entrepreneurs and professionals including black belt martial arts instructor Kellan Jenkins (First Choice Insurance), Jenna Lavecchia (loan officer, Celebrity Home Loans), and Amanda Smith (sales manager, Clear Title), to offer a free women’s self-defense seminar.
Guests will learn more about situational awareness, vulnerable attacks, and basic self-defense, all of which statistics show can reduce violent crimes against women.
The class will be held on October 22, 2022, 1 pm-3 pm at D1 Training in Henderson.
Anderson and the other business owners who’ve partnered for this class such as Sugaring NYC and Adrenaline Mountain are hosting more events in the future. Community members interested in sponsoring or attending the upcoming October 22nd event can contact Anderson via the details below.
Limited space is available for the October class. Free registration is open at https://bit.ly/3LI16Nj.
