Chicago, IL. The Ukrainian National Museum presents an art exhibit Images of Enamel from Kyiv Ukraine. The poetry of Ukrainian folklore and mythology are depicted in Koval’s culturally universal images in enamel art forms and graphics. Opening, Friday, June 8, 2018, 7 pm.
Oleksii Koval was born in Kyiv and there in 1996, he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko State School of Arts. In 2002 he graduated from the National Academy of Art and Architecture in Kyiv
Since the year 2000 Oleksii Koval has been working in the field of monumental art. He has created frescoes, mosaics, murals, sketches with stained glass. Later he studied the technique of hot enamel and attended workshops in Europe, China and India. Today, Koval includes materials such as silver, copper, bronze and precious stones in his enamels.
He has exhibited and participated in numerous workshops, exhibitions across the world. His works are in private collections in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia, China, Nepal, and India.
The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago. Hours: Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Adults $5.00, Children under 12 - Free.
