Huge Protest in Loksabha by the Opposition for the Maha Kumbh Stampede

BJP does not seem very happy with the protest of the opposition poor the Congress on the matter of the Maha Kumbh Stampede where more than 30 people died, but the house mentioned none.

New Delhi, Delhi Feb 3, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - The holy gathering of Maha Kumbh turned into an arena of dead bodies when the millions of pilgrims rushed to take a dip and a deadly stampede happened. In protest of this incident, the opposition party in the Lokshabha, Congress has raised their voice with a prolonged protest and they asked for discussion on the matter. They wanted to talk about the Prayagraj incident along with a list of those deceased. It happened when the house met after the President’s appearance for the joint sitting for the 2025-2026 budget representation. The MPs of Congress stood on their feet and demanded for proper analysis of the tragedy of Maha Kumbh.

Congress general secretary K C Venugopal and the deputy leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi were the two main leaders of the protest who stormed the house and demanded for suspending the question hour and brought a joint discussion on the matter of Maha Kumbh killing. They also asked for a complete list of the people who died. Speaker Om Birla tried to calm the House by saying "The Honourable President had referred to the tragedy at Maha Kumbh. You can raise your issues during the debate," however that would be not bringing the dead back. Around 30 people died and more than 60 people were injured. They all wanted to take a dip on January 29th on Mauni Amavasya.

Om Birla also said, "Arrangements should be made for smooth functioning of the Question Hour as members wait for days for their turn to participate in the discussion," and questioned, "However, you don't want the House to run properly. Have people elected you to disrupt the House and raise slogans?". According to the BJP, the "behavior" of the opposition was not good. After a long disagreement,
