The AIA confers awards to licensed architects for their outstanding performance in building architecture and GVK Mumbai Airport bagged it for the exquisite designing and record-breaking handling of 40 million passengers annually. The award was handed over to one of the top-notch American architecture firms, Skidwell, Owings and Merrill LP (SOM) and GVK for building the new passenger terminal building at the Mumbai Airport and turning into eye-candy for all the passengers. The building has successfully completed 7 years now and since then, it has proved to be one of the best facility provider airports in the country.
