Tbilisi, Georgia May 17, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - "Glowing Memory" is a new short animated film (7 minutes 20 seconds) written, directed, and animated by Goga Osepashvili, an independent filmmaker from Georgia. Combining elements of science fiction and psychological drama, this emotional story follows a solitary man who revisits an abandoned roadside diner, where technology allows him to relive a holographic memory of a loved one he lost long ago.
But this film isn’t about closure.
"Glowing Memory" explores the haunting silence that follows personal tragedy - the kind of loss we never fully explain, yet always carry. It’s a quiet meditation on the nature of grief, the weight of memories, and the human tendency to seek comfort in the past, even when it’s artificial.
“We have to let go of old sorrow to free ourselves and truly start living,” says the filmmaker.
The story takes place in a desolate, fog-covered burger joint on the edge of the city - a place seemingly frozen in time. With subtle sci-fi worldbuilding and a dreamlike aesthetic, the film mirrors the internal world of its main character and poses a lingering question: Is memory a place to dwell, or just something we’re meant to pass through?
About the Director
Goga Osepashvili was born on January 31, 1994.
He began his creative journey as a film director, crafting narrative-driven stories for the screen. Over time, he transitioned into the world of motion design and 3D art, bringing with him a strong foundation in cinematic storytelling. Today, he works as a Motion Graphic Designer and 3D Artist.
Goga is drawn to projects that push creative boundaries and invite collaboration with people who believe in authentic storytelling and thoughtful design.
Glowing Memory is currently under consideration at numerous international film festivals, including those in Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Ukraine, Portugal, Peru, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Mexico, Kazakhstan, the United States, India, the Balkans, and Georgia.
