Its vision rests on four pillars -- social, economic, health, and education. By identifying four sectors to focus on, GIIA hopes to provide a holistic response to the plights of Native people and address the root causes behind the issues they have been widely subjected to.
GIIA facilitates multitudes of activities under their initiatives, including workshops on Indigenous languages and Indigenous language revival. They also organize summits such as Veterans Wellness Summit, Indigenous FireKeepers Summit, and Intertribal Youth Council, all of which are intended to provide safe spaces for Indigenous people.
This charitable organization and the minds behind it aim to empower Native people by giving them access to proper health care, business training, educational workshops, college funding, and networks. GIIA wishes to equip the tribes and their members with tools that will enable them to not only survive but also thrive in the face of the disadvantages that the world has presented to them.
At the helm of GIIA is a team of cause-oriented people who are dedicated to creating opportunities for Indigenous people across the globe, one of which is Daniel StrongWalker Thomas. A descendant of the Oneida people, Daniel is the traditional chief of the Delaware Nation, Lenape People. And as the President of the Board of Directors and Chief Servant Leader of GIIA, his efforts are geared toward encouraging allies to take part in contributing towards a society that sees the worth and respects the inherent dignity of Native people.
