Toronto, Ontario Oct 30, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - St. John’s, NL. On November 3rd, 2022, at 7 PM, Sandra Lee Layden will show a selection of her live music photography for the first time, in partnership with Iceberg Alley Performance and Tent and JAG Hotel.
The aptly named Front Row Lady will leave visitors feeling like they’d been right there in the pit with Layden as she captured the likes of Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Ed Sheeran, The Tragically Hip, and many, many more. Locals will also find some more familiar faces in the mix.
Raised in Dildo, NL, Sandra Lee now resides in Toronto when not traveling the globe shooting musical stars. She is currently on tour with award-winning Canadian rock phenom, JJ Wilde.
“I was always ‘the girl with the camera.’ And I started out using film, which is rare these days, so I definitely earned my stripes the hard way,” laughs Layden.
Layden’s portfolio grew rapidly as word of her gift for unpretentious yet sumptuous lifestyle photography spread. But live music always had her heart; it’s why you’ll find her social media accounts under the handle, FrontRowLady.
Layden’s path to the stage door accelerated when she was asked to cover the Much Music Video Awards, something she did for eight years. Since then, she’s worked with dozens of artists, among them The Arkells, The Glorious Sons, Big Wreck, July Talk, Matchbox 20, Blue Rodeo, and Kellie Loder.
Front Row Lady is the first time Layden will make her live music photographs available to the public. The idea came out of conversations with a fellow live music lover, John Steele.
“JAG is just the perfect location for this show,” says Layden. “The entire experience there is all about music and the art of performance. Showing my pieces in the space feels very natural and right. It’s incredibly exciting.”
A one-night-only event, Front Row Lady will open at 7 PM. Layden will be in attendance to discuss the many delicious stories behind her works.
