Brisbane, Queensland Sep 2, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - UFO to UAP Explained has released a new News Special examining official government records that reveal Australia’s involvement in Five Eyes discussions on unidentified anomalous phenomena and confirm that the United States military provided classified UAP analysis to Australian Defence.

AARO documents confirm that representatives from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand joined U.S. officials at the Pentagon on 24 May 2023 for what was formally described as the “FVEY Inaugural UAP Caucus Working Group.”
According to the official agenda, the meeting was intended to create shared awareness of allied UAP issues involving detection, identification and mitigation, and to develop a framework for future UAP collaboration. Participants included representatives from AARO, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration and Five Eyes partners.
The agenda specifically identified Australia as one of four Five Eyes partners scheduled to provide a national UAP update. It also proposed discussions covering:
- Networks for sharing Five Eyes UAP reporting at unclassified and classified levels.
- Shared databases showing known objects detected using different sensors.
- Five Eyes UAP collection planning.
- Future UAP meetings.
- Potential connections with Five Eyes groups dealing with emerging and disruptive technologies.
An associated AARO email states that the meeting was held in a Pentagon room cleared for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information — TS/SCI. The use of such a facility does not establish that every discussion or presentation was classified at that level, but it demonstrates the intelligence environment surrounding the talks.
The Australian records provide an additional and potentially significant dimension.
In Defence material responding to parliamentary questions, Australia confirmed:
“Yes. The United States military released classified analysis to Defence.”
Defence also confirmed that Australia’s Air Commander provided a classified summary of relevant Air Force capabilities, while existing RAAF intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, aircrew, air battle managers and intelligence officers provide pathways for observations to be communicated and analysed.
Australian Defence has separately confirmed that a Defence representative at the Australian Embassy in Washington attended the May 2023 Five Eyes UAP forum.
The revelations create an important policy question for Australia.
Despite participating in allied UAP discussions and receiving classified U.S. analysis, Defence has maintained that the Defence Aviation Safety Authority does not have a specific UAP reporting protocol. Australian Defence documents state that unusual observations are instead handled through existing aviation safety, intelligence, surveillance and national-security mechanisms where appropriate.
“The important revelation is not that Five Eyes has proven an extraterrestrial explanation for UAP. There is no evidence in these documents supporting that conclusion,” said UFO to UAP Explained host Matt Tones.
