We would like to introduce Raz Parnez who has now joined the professional ranks as a fully licenced promoter with the British Boxing Board of Control. He is the first and only Asian promoter in Scottish history. We are sure he will do extremely well and will work closely with everyone else in the field.

Raz was a successful amateur boxer who boxed for the Scottish National many years ago before joining the Dennistoun ABC. He won a few titles as an amateur and represented Scotland, winning 35 out of his 40 bouts. As an upcoming senior and getting the victories he was chosen to spar with Iron Mike Tyson at the age of 8 years old. This was when Mike Tyson visited Glasgow in 2000 disposing of Lou Savarese in 38 seconds. He fell away from the sport for a period of time and returned in 2007/2008 when he made his professional debut. However, due to a perforated eardrum, Raz had to retire at the end of the 5th round, against a durable opponent, Tony Booth. Thereafter, due to mismanagement and shows being cancelled, Raz suffered injuries in training and had to take time off which resulted in life and work taking over. Although he didn't compete, Raz still stayed connected to the sport.

Why Now? Raz has always wanted to become a promoter in his earlier days but admits he wasn't wise enough and mature enough to make that decision until now. Now is the time. Boxing is massive and is growing immensely. His life and business experiences have taught him many lessons and now he is aiming to use his knowledge and previous experience to hold events and boxing shows to create a difference and diversity. He aims to encourage more youths from all diversities into the sport and will be opening his own boxing gym at some stage over the next few years. being a role model to others in the community he hopes to undertake future boxers under his management and to a journey of success, with hopes of creating a world champion one day.

Raz said; "the things I have seen and went through, I want to make sure none of these things happen to my boxers. I want to run a well-oiled machine and look after my team and boxers, without the boxers there are no shows. I will be a success and will use all my efforts to bring massive events to Scotland in the future. I believe if other promoters engage with me, we can make this happen. I want a World Champion. if this does not happen then I haven't fulfilled my dream. I am here to stay and look forward to the road ahead. My first event is being held on 6th May at Glasgow's, Crowne Plaza, called The New Era, which will feature 5 contests on the night, one being an international title bout. Having support from friends, family, all the fight fans and local businesses is essential. This makes the event worthwhile for their entertainment and enjoyment. Any future boxers looking to compete, get in touch with the team."

Raz will be running the event under Ring Time Promotions and will concentrate on taking this brand forward as a promotional and management company.

After many years out of education, Raz decided to return and at first completed his Legal Diploma. To further torment he decided to progress to complete a degree. Four years later, graduating with a Law Degree and instead of becoming the legal eagle, he has chosen to conquer the fight game, where his passion lies, and will be holding a series of future boxing nights.

Wishing him all the best in the upcoming event. Anyone interested to attend the event then gets in touch with Ring Time Promotions, or any of the boxers.
