Garden City, New York Sep 2, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES IS A NON-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION HEADED BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOSE A LINO WHO HAS BEEN WORKING WITH PROGRAMS SUCH RESTORATIVE JUSTICE AND WHOSE INITIATIVE IS TO MENTOR, EDUCATE AND COUNSEL HIGH-RISK YOUTHS AND WORK SIDE BY SIDE WITH COMMUNITIES AT LARGE.

We at FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES  are a not-for-profit organization working with high-risk youth to provide them with the tools that they need to become productive individuals in society. Felion youth programs work in collaboration with other organizations and programs such as restorative initiative.

FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE Is based on the theory that any individual can be empowered with the necessary tool to handle various situations, in response to conflict and/ or crime. The capacity that all people can heal, grow and transform and by doing so it encourages accountability, self-determination, healing, and interconnection. It may also be used to address mass social conflict and/ or injustice. We at FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES focus on this population that presents a high risk for incarceration, ongoing substance abuse, those struggling with social and functional problems, unemployment, lack of proper education, family disintegration and weak or stressed social supports.

FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES alongside Executive Director Jose A Lino, who is known as a community -leader/ entrepreneur, his last achievement was to receive a hispanic heritage month citation in 2018 from the Town of Hempstead.  He also served the community in the Central American parade in 2018 as their "padrino" (grand marshal). He is currently the padrino for the Central American soccer league in Hempstead NY. Mr. Lino works tirelessly with various community organizations in NY and other states. He has also collaborated to create and improve communications between political, social, economic leaders and the community-at-large. His goal is to teach our youth compassion and to give back to their communities. He believes that human beings were created by love not hate.

FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES strives to expand post-secondary exposure and improve opportunities and provide the tools that they need to stay productive individuals and minimize violence. Our intervention/outreach workers have been equipped with the tools and strategies they need to be successful negotiators. Today’s youth are exposed to a variety of negative factors putting them more at-risk to injury, academic failure, and poor health. Teens who are likely to be more at-risk are usually those that lack a strong support system at home as well as teens who are not coping well with the different challenges that they are facing. Here are some of the youth-at-risk statistics that parents should be aware of:

In the state of New York, there are 935,598 (23%) children under the age of 18 living in poverty, Research has shown the human brain doesn’t reach full maturity until age 25, and imprisoning children does not correlate with crime reduction. For children under 18, getting locked up far from home can be a deeply traumatic and destructive experience, utterly failing to prepare them for reentry into society.

FELION YOUTH ALTERNATIVES is a program created specifically as a community/gang/High-Risk Youth/ crisis intervention. Our staff has been invited to several Universities, High schools and middle schools to assist in organization planning and development. Participants come to the program with a multitude of complex issues such as having been abused or neglected as children, feelings of being unwanted as well as wanting to be a part of "something". FELION YOUTH has continued to earn the confidence and respect of community leaders, educators, parents, residents, and members of New York and other states.  Media Inquiries: Mrs, Alvarado, felionyouthalternatives@gmail.com  516-203-6870  516-451-0582
