College Park, Maryland Dec 7, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Extra-Ordinary Birthdays (EOB), a local 501c3 nonprofit, is hosting its annual Hope for Kids Fall Festival and Costume Party to raise funds that will help provide personalized birthday parties for homeless children in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
This year’s Hope for Kids Festival theme is “Venture into the Wild.” The organization is taking families on a safari jungle adventure they will never forget! Featuring live music, food, activities, a costume contest, a candy tour, special guests, and more, the event will take place at American University on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM. Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-17, and free for children under the age of 4.
“Each month we provide personalized birthday parties for children in homeless shelters that inspire hope, joy, and self-worth,” says Schinnell Leake, Extra-Ordinary Birthdays Executive Director. “Our team goes above and beyond to provide exclusive experiences for each child from their cake to their decorations to their gifts.”
In addition to raising funds, the Hope for Kids Fall Festival is Extra-Ordinary Birthdays’ way of giving the community first-hand experience of an EOB party and showcasing how the organization is changing the lives of homeless children one personalized birthday party at a time.
“Each party costs approximately $200 and we are largely dependent on community donations,” says Andrea Shearin, Extra-Ordinary Birthdays Board Chair. “We provide approximately 10-12 parties each month, and proceeds from this event will be a huge help.”
