Pune, Maharashtra Aug 17, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Cinematographer, Mandar Sudhakar Khare, and actor, Akshata Gaigaware have geared up for their directorial debut with the web series, "Perfect Strangers" which will hit OTT platforms by October 2022. The romantic drama is produced by Evasion Studios.
“Perfect Strangers” the web series, having 10 episodes with a total viewing time of approximately 2.5 hours, revolves around four characters touching upon online dating and their remedies through an entertaining narrative.
Mandar Sudhakar Khare is a multi-hyphenate. He’s a cinematographer, an editor, an engineer, and now attempting writing and direction. He has been a part of quite a few renowned Bollywood and Marathi projects over the years.
Akshata Gaigaware, born in Pune, is an Indian actress, and dancer who has represented India internationally in Cultural Olympiad and won a Bronze. She has worked in multiple web series, regional theater plays, and short films, and worked as a versatile element when it comes to the production of a complete project. She also works as an event manager for various celebrity events. She has always been an enthusiast when it comes to working on projects that are considered hard to accomplish.
Evasion Studios is an Indian production company established by Mandar Sudhakar Khare And Yadnesh Ghorpade in 2019. As of 2022, the company has produced 3 Web Series, including one that has yet to be released. Additionally, team Evasion Studios, provide services like film production, video editing, photography, videography, graphic designing, etc.

This web series revolves around a common but, intriguing topic of talking to strangers. Everyone wants to have a college romance story of their own in college. The kind of movies we have watched since childhood that paints a merry picture in our heads. We think making friends, or finding a partner would be easy but, it is difficult to even have someone to talk to and share your mind to.
No matter how supportive your family is, it is very common to feel a need for a connection with someone outside the home. After thinking about all of this, can we do something to remove the misconception that we should not be talking to strangers? A spark came from this thought and this web series was born.
“A simple talk with a stranger can represent the start of a friendship. Think about it, how did you meet your current friends? You were strangers at first, but you interacted, and now you are important to one another's life. Friendships are vital to our well-being throughout life. They stave off loneliness, provide support through tough times, and contribute to our mental, physical, and emotional health” said writer & director Mandar Sudhakar Khare.
“Additionally, when you are talking to a stranger, we usually find it easier to open up, as they would not judge you for your story. It gives you confidence as positive interactions begin to outweigh the anxiety and negativity from within. This confidence can spread to other areas of your life, giving you the courage to take on more challenges and sometimes might change you as a person altogether”, added Co-director Akshata Gaigaware.
What series ‘Perfect Strangers’ is all about?
“Will you be my Perfect Stranger?” 20-year-old Kunal asks a stranger he met on a website unable to find a real connection. While Dushanti, who has just moved to the city for her studies is finding it difficult to adjust to the fast and extroverted world around her. Perfect Strangers is the story of how these two people from different worlds end up talking to each other. It is a story of a family, college friendships, love, rivalry, and all the drama it brings.
Why the web series is so special to the filmmakers?
“There are many reasons why this web series is special. By the way, we first thought of working on this story in 2016. After that, to gather good people built a team and 2018 dawned, and by the time, working on big Bollywood and Marathi Movie projects, this project of ours was going on for a long time. During COVID, the whole world was sitting at home and facing different problems. After spending a total of 6 years, we finally decided to do this project.
No one from the team didn't have any writing experience and that's why we started meeting writers. But personally, I did not want the manipulation of the main story at all and then decided, let's try writing as well. With this web series, I and Akshata were doing multiple things, not because we did not have money or a team, but we wanted to put everything on paper and screen as we had thought”, said Mandar Sudhakar Khare.
“We were literally struggling in every little thing. The writing was a big task, but as we built confidence in our writing, we started casting for this web series. Started advertising on different portals, websites, and social media sites.
Specific age and looks were required for this. Also, there was a need for passionate artists like us who understand the seriousness of this story. Along with this, everyone's physical figures were ruined due to COVID. So overall casting was also very difficult”, added Akshata Gaigaware.
“It's been tough to keep up with all the changes during the pandemic, from the everything-gets-canceled start through the delta variant and then the omicron surge. But we've got you covered with a light-hearted, romantic comedy web series that finds a new way to overcome loneliness, with which everyone will definitely relate”, said Mandar & Akshata.
