Ermin Dobardžić Awarded French State Honor — Medal of Honor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Grad Zagreb, Croatia (Hrvatska) Jul 23, 2026 (Issuewire.com)  - Ermin Dobardžić, who also holds French citizenship, has been awarded the Medal of Honor of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Médaille d'honneur des Affaires étrangères), by decision of French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, dated February 20, 2026 (NOR: EAEA2534947A).

Ermin Dobardžić spent many years as part of the French diplomatic network, holding several different roles during his career at the French Embassy in Zagreb and maintaining close contact with the last six ambassadors

The honor was presented to him by the French Ambassador to Croatia, Fabien Fieschi, at a reception held at the Embassy of France in Zagreb on July 17, 2026. The ceremony was attended by members of the French diplomatic mission in Croatia, as well as close colleagues and associates of Dobardžić.

The Medal of Honor of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is a formal state distinction awarded by the French government. First established in 1887 and later updated by decree in 2010, it recognizes exceptional and honorable service - civil or military, French or foreign - rendered on behalf of France's diplomatic and consular action abroad. The medal is conferred in three grades: bronze, silver, and gold.
