The honor was presented to him by the French Ambassador to Croatia, Fabien Fieschi, at a reception held at the Embassy of France in Zagreb on July 17, 2026. The ceremony was attended by members of the French diplomatic mission in Croatia, as well as close colleagues and associates of Dobardžić.
The Medal of Honor of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is a formal state distinction awarded by the French government.
