How do you break a grave medical condition to a young person?

  • Emotion-filled Children’s Book Acquaints Young Readers with Breast Cancer

Pittsburg, California Sep 11, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - Author Diane Davies joins this year’s Manila International Book Fair with her touching children’s book, Jeannie Ann's Grandma Has Breast Cancer, a story filled with honesty, love, and understanding.

In the book, readers will meet Jeannie Ann, a typical six-year-old. However, there is nothing typical with what she learns and understands as she witnesses the hardships of her grandmother who has breast cancer. In her young age, she already feels fear, doubt, and other complicated emotions that usually come with a medical challenge.

Davies survived breast cancer in 2004. She was surrounded by her family, friends, and very capable medical team. Now a stronger and wiser person, Davies has decided to help others. One of her volunteer works is a DVD series entitled “Voices of Hope,” which he helped produce along with Hastings Breast Cancer Support Group. She has also published other books on the subject: From There to Here: A Breast Cancer Journey and Breast Cancer Saved My Life.

Diane’s work will be exhibited at the Manila International Book Fair to be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Philippines this coming Sept. 11- 15, 2019 from 10am-8pm at the Authors Press booth no. 2-35.
