London, England Dec 2, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - At the premiere of ‘The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical’, Elton John shared an update regarding his eyesight. The premiere occurred in London on 1st December, and he said he could not see the audience. The prolific singer is losing his eyesight with each passing day. He said ‘As some of you may know, I have had issues and now I have lost my sight. I haven’t been able to see the performance but I have enjoyed it’. In this hard time, his husband David Furnish is helping him in many ways.
The artist has also said ‘To my husband, who's been my rock because I haven't been able to come to many of the previews … it's hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it and it sounded good tonight’. Previously, in September, he said he has got an infection in one of his eyes and has ‘only limited vision in one eye’. He even added ‘I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye’.
John said ‘I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks. I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far’. He experienced the saddening experience in July. At that time, the artist was on vacation in France. He lost his vision in the right eye, which occurred due to an eye infection.
Elton John even said in an interview that ‘It kind of floored me, and I can't see anything. I can’t read anything, I can't watch anything’. Along with that ‘left eye's not the greatest’. For this particular reason, the artist is not being able to write any lyrics and make new songs. He is now ‘taking the initiative to try and get it better’. He also added ‘There's hope and encouragement that it will be okay, but I'm kind of stuck at the moment ... going into the studio and recording, I don't know’.
