Hollywood, California Sep 11, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Weiyang Li is not one to shy away from controversy when it comes to his editing work. Many of the films he's worked on have received outstanding acclaim because their topics artfully focus on alternative lifestyles, social injustice, and otherwise taboo topics. His innovative story lines, and ability to convey emotion through editing has literally changed lives for the better by teaching acceptance and tolerance. While the films he has edited may have spotlighted the actors, directors, producers, and issues, Li has been happy to be quietly and bravely creating movie magic through editing in the background. His list of editing projects have earned some impressive awards from many festivals.
In 2016, Li edited, the short film A Comedy: Invisible Man. It was selected by 19th Dances with Films Film Festival, screened in Chinese Theater. The same year, he edited the short film The Death of a Stone which was selected in the 12th BLOW-UP International Film Festival. In 2017, he edited the short film Insight, and it was selected by L.A. Shorts
International Film Festival. In 2018, he edited the short film XYXY, earning The Best Fiction Film Award in Flamingo Film Festival. The same year, his editing of the short film Stuck won the BEST USE OF IBM WATSON MEDIA TOOLS in 2018 AT&T Shape Create-a-Thon Short Film Competition.
For now, Li is content to continue editing so long as it is for the right reasons.
“I plan to carry on the fight against injustice, speak for the voiceless and express the humankind truth with every cut I make and every take I select,” said Li.
