Earn or renew your ACC, PCC or MCC credential to increase your confidence and credibility

Atlanta, Georgia Jun 9, 2021 (Issuewire.com)  - The International Coaching Federation (ICF) maintains the gold standard for professional coaches worldwide and requires them to renew their credentials every three years for ongoing professional development.

In order to earn an ACC (Associate Coach Certification), PCC (Professional Coach Certification), or MCC (Master Coach Certification) credential, you will be required to submit a new credential application. And if you want to renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential, you will have to complete a credential renewal application with the (ICF) before the credential lapse date. You have to renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential that you have already earned every three years to be able to continue with your professional coaching practice.

Steps to edit your profile on the ICF portal

You can renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential by logging into your ICF online profile and clicking “Edit Profile”. You will see a link to your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential renewal under “My Credentials”.

To earn or renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential, you need to receive a minimum of 10 hours of mentor coaching from a competent and certified coach, in addition to the required real-life coaching experience required to earn or renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential.

For ACC applicants, this means that at least 25 hours of coaching experience must have taken place within 24 months of submitting an application. For PCC applicants, this means that at least 50 hours of coaching experience must have taken place within 24 months of submitting an application.

10 hours of coaching is required for credential renewal

Out of the 10 hours of coaching required to earn or renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential, 7 hours need to be in the format of group mentor coaching, while the remaining 3 hours must be one-on-one.

You need to renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential before it fully expires. The ICF values ongoing professional development for credentialed coaches. Given the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may still apply to renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential through December 31, 2021, if it had expired on December 31, 2020. Your Continuing Coach Education requirement will be capped with an additional 1.2 units instead of the former 1.2 additional units per month of the lapse duration.

Certified mentor coach to renew your ACC, PCC, and MCC credentials

In order to renew your ACC, PCC, or MCC credential, you need to submit a new credential application rather than completing a credential renewal application. Also, remember that it is not possible to upgrade to a higher credential via the credential renewal application. If you wish to pursue a higher credential than what you are holding currently, you must complete an initial application for that credential.
