Collaborating with a talented team of community leaders, artists, and professionals, including Detroit's own Dylan Sides, the best cinematographer in town, who has joined as a producer. Together, they are launching a crowdfunding campaign to bring this story to life, and want to kick off this campaign in a way that truly honors Donald Goines.
As you may know, Detroit and Highland Park share some good times and bad. They also share his story! They will be taking part in a vital nexus for Highland Park! It’s going to be a Highland Park renaissance, led out of “Parker Village”, the new farm/haven/transportation/saving station located at 181 E. Buena Vista St, Highland Park 48203. Juan Shannon and community activists have taken the lead!
On October 21st, they will be unveiling the very first mural of Donald Goines, painted by the renowned local artist, Sintex. This mural will not only serve as a tribute to Goines’ legacy but also as a powerful symbol of Detroit/Highland Park’s artistic and cultural renaissance. They plan to make this unveiling an event to remember, with community leaders, artists, and supporters coming together to celebrate and announce this groundbreaking project.
