District 41 Toastmasters International celebrates “Resonance” with great vigour and camaraderie

The meet and greet event of District 41 was an illustrious affair

New Delhi, Delhi Jun 18, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - District 41 of Toastmasters International organised a 3-day meet and greet event at Welcomhotel ITC Dwarka from 10th-12th June. The event witnessed a gathering of 270 members from across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. This 3-day extravaganza started with a cultural amalgamation across the district, where over 150 toastmasters’ members showcased their unique talents.

The second day was interspersed with keynote speakers and performers like Atul Satya Kaushik-an eminent playwright and receiver of many awards in India who left an impression by inspiring all to seek answers rather than asking questions, and Seema Golchaa stand-up comedian and a global ventriloquist with her pal Jack Denials and Dr. Punita Singh-an educator, Managing Editor and Content Head at Dorling Kindersley and Rough Guides who spoke to us about the need to find the key in ourselves to unlock the doors of opportunities.

What followed up next was the classic flag march by the district officers. The final day was packed with powerful speeches by incoming District Directors Ankur Yadav – District Director elect D41 and Ayan Pal, DTM- District Director elect D124. Ankur Yadav, DTM emphasized, “2022-2023 will be a year of learning, transformation, and correcting ourselves.” He clearly communicated his priority for real leaders over paper leaders while asking members to display utmost loyalty to themselves and to spread their brilliance even outside toastmasters. Ayan Pal, DTM said, “I would like to not just uphold the core values of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Excellence, but also instil within myself and my fellow officers the values of Loyalty, Perseverance, and Passion. My vision is that of a District whose elected and selected officers act as change catalysts that help our members get out of Toastmasters, all there is to get out of Toastmasters. So that they never get out of Toastmasters! I believe that once we believe that we can, we most certainly will stride towards success”.

A powerful keynote on leadership by Prof Himanshu Rai-Director of IIM Indore who beautifully explained the relevance of shlokas from Bhagwad Geeta in leadership today, adding lustre to the closing day. From July onwards the District will be split into D41 and D124 and this was well articulated by the last District Director of the largest District in the world, Ranjit Acharya DTM, who emotionally bid farewell to the united District 41.

The largest District of Toastmasters International, District 41 currently has 22 divisions spread across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. Toastmasters International is not only a launchpad to public speaking and leadership building but is also a window to networking and soft skills enhancement.
