SHELTER BAY YACHT CLUB STARTS SOCIAL DISTANCING DINNER AND A MOVIE WITH
NETFLIX PARTY AND LOCAL RESTAURANTS
- SBYC is hosting virtual DINNER AND A MOVIE nights beginning March 28th for 4 Saturdays.
- For the first dinner. club members will order from a limited menu from SEEDS Bistro and Bar, pick up curbside and will then take home their dinner and log in to NETFLIX PARTY to all watch the same show on their PC or laptop, make comments to each other and enjoy their dinner.
- Subsequent dinners will involve other community restaurants subject to WA State and CDC guidelines.
- Diners will also have included in their dinner package one bag of microwave popcorn, one box of movie candy and instructions to log on to their clubs NETFLIX PARTY

The Shelter Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) was formed in 1977 and is in the community of Shelter Bay, on the west side of the Swinomish Channel, across from the town of La Conner. Membership in SBYC is open to any resident of Shelter Bay or community marina tenant. Our training efforts, social events, and cruises are all geared to encouraging safe boating practices while stimulating neighborly spirit among boating enthusiasts.
The club hosts monthly dinners and marine training sessions for the membership during colder weather months and cruises throughout the Puget Sound during warmer months. With the requirements for social distancing and the economic impact on the tourist community of LaConner the leadership for the club decided to get creative and not cancel the monthly get-togethers.

Shelter Bay Yacht Clubs goal during these social distancing times is to support the local community by providing an opportunity to highlight local area restaurants for 4 weeks and enjoy virtual entertainment with the miniseries – Self Made via NETFLIX PARTY– 4 episodes highlighting the true story of Madam C J Walker -a woman aspiring to be more than a washerwoman. The uplifting story of a woman who became a millionaire despite social and demographic issues. NETFLIX PARTY IS A NEW WAY TO SOCIAL DISTANCE PARTY WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
