Who is GOLDIE?

Goldie is a singer, songwriter, music composer and producer. He is an independent indie rock artist to be one of the most defining musicians of the decade.

Goldie is the most wayward, ferociously individual artist currently working in the indie rock idiom. His songs veer perversely between musical styles, conveying childlike joy and acoustically ravaged guitar. Born in White Rock, a city in British Columbia, Canada, Goldie obsessively worked to build a classic vision: to re-imagine indie rock music itself to form an organic art of his own. With a hotly anticipated debut album in March 2020, plus a set of new singles due to be unveiled, this is only the beginning for this young Canadian prodigy.

Early Life

Born on March 23rd, 1990, Goldie is from a league of his own. He was exposed to music at a very young age and used to listen to a variety of different genres in his parent’s cars. He got attracted to music while in high school and was mostly self taught in playing the guitar. The artist worked his way out of age crisis depression, healing himself with help of nature, Yoga, and biking which finally became the foundation of his music. Maintaining his artistic inspiration from bands and artists like Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Other Lives, Neil Young, Grizzly Bear, the indie rock artists sound is unlike any other. Armed with a tenor voice, he started perfecting his music career on his own.

Musical Beginnings

Fast forward to 2013 and Goldie jumped into Music Circuit and began performing in front of different Audiences. Comparisons followed post the performance, from Led Zeppelin heavy metal band (which the artist does not agree with) to Jeff Buckley, to Thom Yorke, the frontman for anti-Brit-pop technicians “RADIOHEAD”.

Success

Post-2013, Goldie has worked with Classically trained violinist Herman Lo on songs like “Tundra”, “Fata Morgana” and “Reprise”. Galvanized by self-motivation and guided by his sheer will he Goldie is working towards a successful career, starting with the lyric music video for “Tundra”.

Inspirations and Future Projects

While Goldie looked to nature and people, their perspectives and lives for inspiration for his songs, he always remained rooted in 'riffs', chords and words came to him naturally. “What I love about music is that it helps me connect to myself and other people. It's as if it's revealing the truth of one's environment, such as the people that inhabit it, whether it be strangers or friends.” says Goldie the curator of the album 'Blind!', “Music is my passion, and I have learned this a bit later in life, but once I found my voice, and could pick up a guitar and start to write music (not to mention playing my first open mics), I knew it was my path.”
