Paris, France Jun 24, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Rising international actor Dan Cade, best known for his performances in HBO’s True Detective and the Sony Pictures Classics historical drama Nuremberg, has joined the cast of the upcoming political thriller The Wizard of the Kremlin.
Directed by acclaimed auteur Olivier Assayas (Carlos, Personal Shopper), the film stars Jude Law as Vadim Baranov, a cunning political operator navigating the shadowy inner circle of Russian power. The cast also includes Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander and critically acclaimed actor Paul Dano.
Cade takes on the role of Agent Johnson, a sharp and quietly formidable Western intelligence officer whose storyline runs directly opposite Law’s Baranov. His performance is set to add psychological intensity and an international edge to the film’s espionage-driven narrative.
Based on the international bestseller by Giuliano da Empoli, The Wizard of the Kremlin is a gripping deep dive into the machinery of propaganda, influence, and statecraft inside Putin-era Russia. Assayas brings his signature elegance and cerebral energy to this timely adaptation.
Following his roles opposite Russell Crowe and Rami Malek in Nuremberg, and opposite Jodie Foster in True Detective — HBO’s highest-rated limited series — Cade continues to carve out a distinct global screen presence. His casting in The Wizard of the Kremlin signals another leap forward in an already dynamic career.
The film is currently in production and scheduled for release in 2026.
Dan Cade is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners in Los Angeles.
