Dr. Akshata Prabhu won the title on 8 th August 2021, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve such a milestone. Isn’t that great? She is a true revelation of a woman without limits, isn’t she? However, it has not been smooth sailing since the competition got delayed due to the covid crisis. And, of course, as a pageant system of international repute, it was challenging and involved four different rounds as a part of the beauty pageant competition – Personal Interview Round, Cocktail Round with Introductions, Swimsuit Round & Evening Gown Finale. She conquered all the above to win the International crown & title bringing pride to her country, India.
What is Ms. International World?
It is an International pageant based in Miami, Florida, USA. It accepts and assesses women of all ages, regardless of their marital status. Therefore, this platform gives equal opportunity to all women and they believe their crown being key to success.
The Contestants took off from Miami, Florida, USA to board the International Cruise Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line where the Pageant Event was held. It saw delegates from countries far and wide, including Italy, USA, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Macedonia, Venezuela, Chile, Poland, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Germany, and Sweden. Unfortunately, participants from other countries like Greece, Nigeria, Trinidad & Tobago never made it due to
the spiking COVID-19 cases and other unforeseen circumstances.
What Does it Take to Win the Ms. International World Title?
For Dr. Akshata to win the Ms. International World Title, she underwent a four-round screening and assessment test. These rounds include:
● Round one: Personal Interview: This round involves the participants introducing themselves before the judges (conducted online due to COVID-19 issues). Judges can question contestants about various topics.
● Round two: Cocktail Round: This stage involves introducing contestants physically. Akshata appeared wearing a dress designed by renowned designer Sherri Hill based in USA who is known for exquisite designs.
● Round three: Swimsuit Round: This stage involves the contestants walking the ramp and pose with confidence in swimwear.
● Round four: Evening Gown Finale. This is the final round. It entails a ramp walk in the presence of a live audience where the Judges evaluated the poise and the grace of the contestants. At Bahamas Paradise Cruise, there were about 750 people present, almost one-third of the usual live audience. This cut was due to COVID-19 restrictions. In the pre covid era, this ship has carried up to 2500 people onboard.
How it all went down
Gelsinya Bareeva from Russia, a single mother of an 11-year-old and the former Ms. International World winner, crowned Dr Akshata as the Ms. International World winner 2021. Here is what Gelsinya had to say; “Ms. International World values role models, and Dr. Akshata from India is a true role model for so many women who want to achieve their dreams and make a difference.”
Dr Akshata said that she won the Ms. International World title for herself, her country and all individuals with a dream. She looks forward to inspiring, influencing and impacting millions of lives globally through the opportunities offered by Ms. International World platform.
As the Ms. International World Winner, Dr Akshata will walk in the New York fashion week and feature on the famous Times Square billboard. In addition to this, she will attend the Dubai Global Summit as the guest of honour. This is just the beginning and many more opportunities coming her way.
Dr Akshata has sent a message to the world that women can be role models, and marriage or motherhood is not the end of everything. Women can still shine at this stage as well. To encourage and uplift women, she has her own platform in India titled as The International Glamour Project that promotes inner glamour over external beauty and values the real worth of a woman.
