Mutiny Pictures is excited to announce the release of MAKE UP by director Claire Oakley. This is Oakley’s debut feature film and was produced in conjunction with BBC Films. Oakley’s four short films have played at more than 50 festivals worldwide and have picked up several prices internationally.
Critically acclaimed MAKE UP tells the story of Ruth who moves in with her boyfriend in a remote holiday park, tensions rise as she makes an unsettling discovery that lures her into a spiral of obsession. Transforming her remote coastal setting into an intangible labyrinth of creeping intrigue, Claire Oakley inventively flirts with genre conventions to weave a singular tale of self-acceptance and sexual awakening. MAKE UP includes riveting performances by Molly Windsor (Three Girls), Joseph Quinn (Game of Thrones) and Stefanie Martini (Prime Suspect 1973). Written and directed by Claire Oakley, MAKE UP was set to premiere at this year’s SXSW.
