Bronx, New York Aug 1, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Youth Enlightened African (YEA) Movement, a non-profit organization, initiated by young Africans solely dedicated to addressing African matters, has recently participated in the continuous fight against the coronavirus pandemic by launching a hand-washing campaign in public secondary schools in Côte d’Ivoire. The project is implemented as a response to the virus’ potential hazardous effect against the students in Ivory Coast (West Africa).
Realizing that the African educational system will continue to function regardless of the dangers brought by the infectious virus’ existence, the YEA Movement itself has decided to assist the students in their safety directly. They spearheaded the hand-washing campaign as the first of the many safety projects planned and will be initiated by the organization.
Complimentary and true to the organization’s principles and mission of aiming to nurture the young, vibrant, and brilliant African population. The campaign was launched as a prevention effort intended to try and protect the African youth as much as possible from the vulnerabilities and looming threats posed by the coronavirus.
Considering the growing number of infected people gradually increasing day by day, along with the current minimal level of global progress, humanity has made in developing a cure. The need for implementing consistent safety efforts and measures is at an all-time high, especially for the young, whose immune system is even more vulnerable alongside the elderly.
With the recent campaign itself having been labeled as a success by the end of it, the students from these said public secondary schools were able to wash their hands before their respective scheduled exams thoroughly—all the necessary resources and materials needed for this project being already provided by the organization.
Additionally, joining the spirit of actively advocating for the implementation of COVID-19 precautionary measures in schools, the organization also gave the students individual mufflers and hydro-alcoholic gels that the students can take home, and may use to further shield themselves from ever catching the virus. Volunteers gave these materials with the intent to equip the students with an armor of some sort.
It is in this light that the YEA organization will push through with even more projects aimed towards accommodating the African youth. The projects of which will be made sure to turn out successful and sustainable at the end of every implementation. So the whole African population can expect an overall, very active YEA Movement, and a lot of campaigns to come out from this group.
With not much progress on the vaccine in sight, the organization will, therefore, continue to work on other preventive measures that they can implement as a non-profit group. The fight against COVID-19 is one that is admittedly tedious and grueling. But nevertheless, even with just these simple and basic efforts being made, the fight is on-going with no announced and fixed victor yet.
The opportunity to retaliate and eventually beat the coronavirus pandemic is still a possibility, and it is in humanity’s best bet that we invest in prevention instead of restoration or compensation. With this in mind, let the fight be continuous than not.
