Los Angeles, California Aug 18, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Compton native and entrepreneur Patrice Floyd Jr. has launched Troglodyte.TV, an independent entertainment platform built to give filmmakers, musicians, artists, and video creators greater control over their content, audiences, and income.
The idea for Troglodyte.TV grew from Floyd’s own experience building a massive audience on social media.
Floyd previously operated an Instagram entertainment page that amassed approximately 331,000 followers. The page focused on finding viral videos and exposing them to an even larger audience. One video posted to the account generated more than 30 million plays.
However, much of the viral material originally belonged to other creators, which eventually resulted in copyright infringement issues and the removal of the Instagram account.
Losing an audience of more than 300,000 followers became a major turning point for Floyd.
“I built this huge audience and then one day it was basically gone,” Floyd said. “I understood the copyright issue because I was posting content that belonged to other people. But it also showed me how quickly everything you built can disappear when somebody else controls the platform.”
Instead of rebuilding another large social media page, Floyd decided to create a platform of his own.
That experience became the foundation for Troglodyte.TV.
“I wanted to create a network where creators could build something without constantly worrying about the platform taking it away,” Floyd said. “As long as creators follow our content, copyright, and community guidelines, our goal is to help them grow, not look for reasons to remove them.”
Troglodyte.TV allows independent creators to publish and monetize their own content while setting their own prices.
Creators keep 100% of their direct sales revenue, excluding standard payment processing fees.
Unlike platforms where creators depend on revenue sharing programs or receive only a portion of the money generated from their content, Troglodyte.TV is designed around direct transactions between creators and their supporters.
“If somebody buys your movie, your music, or your content, that is your sale,” Floyd said. “You created it. You promoted it. You brought the audience. You should keep the money.”
The platform is designed for independent filmmakers, musicians, entertainers, video creators, educators, and other digital creators who want another way to monetize their work and build direct relationships with their audiences.
Floyd believes his previous experience growing viral content gives him a unique understanding of both the opportunities and problems creators face online.
“Thirty million plays showed me that I knew how to get people’s attention,” Floyd said. “Losing 331,000 followers showed me that attention is not the same thing as ownership. Troglodyte.TV came from that lesson.”
Troglodyte.TV operates under the slogan:
Built for Creators, Powered by Fans.
